September 2025, Attorneys Richard A. O’Connor and Vimala B. Ruszkowski successfully defended a Connecticut Orthopedic surgeon and his group in a medical negligence action alleging a failure to diagnose and treat a claimed undersized femoral component. Plaintiff alleged that the defendant missed an obvious radiolucency on post operative films that demonstrated an undersized component and corresponding loosening.  Defense was successful in explaining to the jury that the stem was not undersized, that the defendant took reasonable steps to investigate plaintiff’s post operative pain, and that the implant did not fail because of an undersized component but because of a failure of boney ingrowth.
